Maria la Gorda is definitely a place for divers sailing out 2 times a day. But also a place for snorkelers - as it is possible to enjoy the corals with colorful fish directly from the beach. We only snorkeled from the beach as we were hit by stomach infection and had to stay close to the bathroom during our stay.

The Cuba cruise People to People tour at Maria la Gorda used this small boat for our snorkeling trip out to the coral reefs off the Guanahacabibes Peninsula. The reefs were just a few minutes boat ride from the Maria la Gorda pier. The SCUBA divers went to a reef a little further away, but the diving was still less than 50 feet deep.
