I have use a 4x2 kallax as a stand for a 60p and also a 45p next to each other, the sand was fine but as ppl have said sideways movement is a bit concerning, the 4x2 is not suppose to be on it side in this configuration. Saying that I didn't have any problems.

The stuff made from solid pine wood is OK, and should be able to support an aquarium <50g no problem. The post above is correct, probably 80% of stands out there are made of particle board or MDF, they just should be sealed and treated properly.. I've used IKEA furniture on up to 40g tanks, and would go higher. I have however reinforced.

22 30 augustus 2020 #1 Hallo allemaal, Ik wil mijn huidige meterbak upgraden naar een bak van 1.20x40x50. Mijn meterbak staat op een origineel aquarium kast die het gewicht dus kan dragen. Maar mijn vraag is dus of een IKEA kastje een gewicht van ruim 270 kilo (inclusief substraat, stenen, hout) kan dragen met wat eenvoudige verstevigingen?
