These two breweries control 90% of the beer market in Portugal. There are several smaller breweries in Portugal and many craft breweries. Pale lager is by far the most commonly drunk beer in Portugal.

Super Bock and Sagres are the beer brands that the Portuguese consume the most, in the white, black and flavored beer categories. Here, the Super Bock/Sagres "dispute" is almost comparable to the eternal Coca-Cola/Pepsi. It's worth trying both. They are light beers, cheap and easy to drink.
